My family will be visiting the Big Island this summer, and we'd like to take a day trip to Oahu. It looks like the best time to get over there will be on a Sunday. Is this a good day to head over, or does it matter? We'd like to see a lot of the island and do a little shopping...Thanks

Flight wise - I don't think it matters what day you come.
Shopping wise - since it's the holidays, the malls will be busy. Expect crowds. You'd be better shopping on a weekday, if you can.

i agree with mshell. pearlridge mall wasn't bad at all yesterday morning and neither was waikele premium outlets. i say go early. also, if you are going to go around the island, sunday, would not be a good day. traffic, traffic, traffic! well, there's always traffic going that way as visitors and locals alike try to catch a view of the waves.
