Does it go out a few times per year and stay out for a couple days? I'm curious about the chances of my pipes freezing because I don't have a wood-burning stove. I would need more than one non-electric heater to keep all the pipes from freezing in the house. If I had to leave the house for weeks, I may not have enough fuel in the non-electric heaters. I may worry about them causing a fire. I'm not sure what to do, but I am leaning toward relying on electric space heaters and hoping the power does not go out for too long during the winter.

I live on the north side of Youngstown. My power goes out only once every couple of years. Usually, because of a summer thunderstorm. And, if the power does go out, it's usually on again within the hour. (most of the time, it's only off for a few minutes)
