kcmo, I am getting the impression that you're doing skimming research. Of the number of questions you asked above, the information is on many of Edmond's websites. Yes, Edmond has a nice indoor Ice Skating Rink, Arctic Edge. It's been in business for almost 16 years.

Your comparing the suburb of a mid-sized city to a suburb of a much larger city. When it comes to walkable lifestyle centers, yes, Edmond is underserved. Many people in Edmond and OKC have demaded such a center, and while there was such a place proposed north of Quail Springs Mall (Tuscana), the developer decided to take a less ballsy approach. One thing is for sure, Edmond can definetely support a lifestyle center.

I really think at issue here is the fact you are wanting the amenities for a city of 2.5 million for a city of 1.3 million. It is a city that works every year to improve itself and it simply cannot happen overnight.

My parents live there and have some rentals that are roughly in the ballpark for what you want but I don't know if they have any open right now.
Thank you so much for your advice! I understand that my list is extensive and it will be hard to find it all in one place at that price I just figured I'd throw it all out there and maybe someone might know of some place that is close. I'm actually heading out to the area on Wednesday for a tour of UCO, and to explore. I will be sure to check out the areas you mentioned! I would love if you would give your parents my email address (amber102083 at gmail dot com) since they have some rentals. We aren't making the move until next summer, so I'm just trying to get my feelers out and make contacts right now. Again, thanks for the info!!!

Looking on craigslist it might be a bit tough to get all you are wanting in the price range of $1,000/month. If you are okay with a duplex or can bump it up to about $1,200 you'll probably have more options.

Also, don't overlook far North OKC. All those neighborhoods north of Quail Springs and east of roughly Western is technically in OKC city limits (but Edmond Schools). Its still very accessible to UCO though.

I will see them sunday. I'll ask what they know about rentals (their's in particular and also in general).

Regardless of what KCMO says Edmond is a perfect blend of a suburb and a small town. It has done a reasonable job of maintaining it's charactor through it's metamorphasis.

I'm pretty sure this thread isn't about you.

Have you ever lived in Edmond? Have you ever even been to Edmond?

Edmond is a great place, though it's getting a bit too congested, imo. Driving through can be a nerve-wracking experience unless you like to pass birthdays sitting at stop lights.
