In the recent issue of the AARP paper (not the mag), they told how OK. is using their additional cigarette tax money to provide insurance for more workers in the state. A few of the things on the above website haven't been updated. They now will help companies that employ up to 250 people.

The tax is used to provide 60% of the insurance costs which is supplemented by 25% employer contributions and 15% employee contributions.

They've also raised the income guidelines for qualified people to 25,525 for a single person and 34,225 for couples.


It's just great to see a state that is using their tax dollars to help others in return. Some states~ahem~are still using their cig tax money to put up huge billboards that say, "Don't smoke".
