I've heard there is a horse-highway between Ft. Worth, Tx and Oklahoma City, Ok...but are there any horse people on this site who can affirm that claim? What are the most horsey areas of Ok-as horse businesses, trainers/barns/competitions, etc.? Best property for the price? Pasture quality? Anybody who has anything to add, it would be appreciated!

The area you are looking for is Purcell and Wayne. It's right along I-35. Purcell is the Quarter Horse Capital of the world. There are trainers/breeders for rodeo events and racing. Anything a QH does, Purcell has a business for it. It's about 3 hrs north of the DFW area and about half an hour south of OKC.

As far as Stillwater, I guess it depends on what you're used to. It's pretty much like the rest of the state. You can look up specifics online.

I live in Oklahoma and have horses.

There are tons of equestrian opportunities here. Whether you are into Western, Trail riding, Hunter/Jumper, Team Penning, Roping, Barrel Racing, Racing, Cutting, Dressage, you will find plenty of chances to play.

One great resource that covers general horse related activities is oklahoma horse online . com
