SQ 820 is the recreational marijuana vote coming up March 7th. I don't partake in it but I am fine with it being legal. It essentially is now but you have to jump through some hoops to buy it. Any opinions?

The final countdown: Will SQ 820 pass or fail?

State Question 820’s day of judgment is coming Tuesday, March 7, as voters across the state head to the polls to decide if Oklahoma will join the list of states that have legalized adult cannabis usage.

If passed, SQ 820 would legalize cannabis use for adults 21 and up and expunge some past marijuana convictions. It would also generate hundreds of millions in added tax benefits over its first five years, according to those who favor the citizen-petition proposal.

But will it pass? There has been a dearth of polling. In October, Amber Integrated found SQ 820 leading 49 to 38 percent, but there have been no public polls released since.

In June 2018, SQ 788 established the state’s medical marijuana program and passed, 56 to 43 percent, performing well in Oklahoma City and Tulsa while holding its own in some of the state’s more populous rural counties.

Most anti dope folks have died off. Most people under 75 have used it, been around it, or just aren't that stigmatized by it.

I think it will be another victory for the old hippies who used to run around with those NORML shirts on all the time.

I do miss those days when some older guy with a big wide grin would say "Why do you think they call it dope?"

I have a religious friend who is totally against weed being legally. But then in a town near me that is a Christian based doctor's office and they had a discount day for getting your medical marijuana card.

I think the whole thing has gone pretty well. Only problem is these illegal weed farms that are scattered about.

I watched a close friend go down after recreational use for 20+ years. There went a bright neonatal nurse with a habit.

So much for Oklahoma being "freedom-loving" and "wanting less government interference in people's lives."

I got an earful from the medical marijuana dispensary owner. Apparently legalizing the weed would not be a good thing for the dispensaries. She gave me a long list of reasons why she did not want 820 to pass. And after hearing her reasons, I am glad the legal marijuana bill did not pass here in Oklahoma.

I've been using for close to 50 years. And I must say the Edibles are a godsend for my insomnia and anxiety.

People can now still go to jail for possession of marijuana in Oklahoma per police discretion. How is this a good thing? Most other states are moving away from the War on Drugs.

I used to make brownies before it the medical marijuana was passed. I had a best friend who was a nurse and taught nursing in college and after he retired he wanted to try brownies laced with marijuana.

I think the edibles have a completely different effect on me then smoking. Besides I have smoke for so many years that my lungs are toast. So one little hit will be three or four hits to me. My advice to you is try the gummy bears!
