Default Penny Postcards from Oklahoma

Broken down by county. Most don't have but a few, but the ones that are there, are pretty cool.

I don't even want to think about what kind of fence would be needed to keep that steer penned up!

Seems like I almost have a cat now, too. There's a feral kitten that's been hanging around, meowing under my window at night. I've only seen it once, but I started putting food out for it and the food is vanishing. Kinda pretty, fluffy and black, maybe 4 months old.

If you fenced in that huge area next to your house, you would have one huge yard.

It takes time and $$. And since there used to be two houses there, I'd have to have that utility whatsit come mark all the underground lines, etc, so I wouldn't be pounding fence posts into anything costly. It's on my list of things to do, though.

That's the one. I just called to ask about it, and suddenly I have a ticket # I'll have to renew every 10 or 14 days! Considering that I'll be putting in at most 3 or 4 fence posts/month, this is going to be a very long, drawn out affair.

Once they come out and mark it, all you have to do is make sure the "marks" don't disappear before you get done. You can get a cans of spray paint and go over the markings to keep them fresh. Just make SURE you keep the lines exactly where they are supposed to be. They use different color paint depending on what utility gets marked. (Usually blue for water, green for sewer, red for electric etc.)

I figured once they marked it, I could just put in stakes wherever I needed. That's not what the guy on the phone said, though. There are some cable markers in what's supposed to be my alley, but I don't think the cable goes anywhere. But there are a lot of sewer and water lines, some of them outside my already-fenced area. Can't be too much, though, there's a little falling-apart barn thingie that's in the middle of the open area, and according to one of my neighbors, one of those who lived in one of the houses that's gone now used to have a really big veggie garden.

What did the guy on the phone tell you? Hubby has been dealing with public utilities for a LOT of years and I am asking him what is and isn't allowed.
