I've posted before about my writing a book of hauntings in Nebraska along the Missouri River, including of course, Omaha. I've been asking for people to share with me accounts of their experiences, and I appreciate everyone who has responded. Thank you!

But I'm puzzled -- I'm having a hard time learning of any hauntings in the Old Market. I thought for sure that would be one place that would have oodles of stories -- so many that I thought I might need to do a separate book just about the Old Market ghosts. But I've only gotten ONE story about the Old Market! Does that seem strange to you? Is there something about the Old Market that I'm not aware of -- a reason why there don't seem to be any reports or investigations into the paranormal in that area?

If you hve anything you would like to share, I've set up a dedicated email account just for this project: ghoststories7 (a)t gmail.com To learn more about my writing background (and to verify that I am, indeed, a writer and not just some goof on the Internet), feel free to visit my website at The Best Write Answer :: 30 Years of Writing that WORKS

Thanks so much!

I have a good reason there are no ghost stories from the Old Market...ghosts aren't real.

Depending on what a person labels a ghost, yes they can be real. Spirits or some sort of energy from past living beings do make their presence known. I didn't used to believe in that stuff, but I do know for certain now there has to be something.

Yes there are ghosts in the old market, there are ghosts all over town. The Pizza Shoppe in Benson is one of the most haunted places in Omaha just to name one.

Go to P.R.I.S.M. - Paranormal Research and Investigative Studies Midwest you will be shocked.

Happygolucky,

Thanks. I've been tot he PRISM site....good stuff there. But they only have O'Connors Pub in the Old Market. And they don't have The Pizza Shoppe in Benson....thanks for that lead.

Besides O'Connors, do you know of specific places in the Old Market? I'm just not having any luck ... And have you had any experiences yourself that you could share?

Thanks again! I appreciate your help!
