City-wise?

Des Moines?
Kansas City?
Lincoln?

Hmmmm... I guess I've never thought of any of them as being rivals.

I suppose the closest thing to a competitor might be Kansas City, but that's primarily because of the airport.

As far as lost revenues which may have othehrwise been spent in Omaha, it would definitely be KC, with Des Moines at a distant second.

For a variety of reasons, but mainly the airport, shopping, and entertainment.

Rivals in the sense that we must vanquish their evil designs by launching a preemptive strike in order to destroy their wickedness forever!!!!....or something.

Well in THAT case, it's probably Sioux City!

Haha, great responses so far!

Basically, rival in the same sense as, for example, Pittsburgh vs. Philadelphia...or Kansas City vs. St. Louis... or Houston vs. Dallas... or Orlando vs. Tampa... or Cincinnati vs. Cleveland... etc.

But what is the rivalry? Economics, who's cooler, who has the most old people, who has the tallest mayor?

To be honest, it doesn't even seem Omaha has a rival. If it was up to people in Lincoln, then I'm sure our rival would be Lincoln.

Economics, battling for conventions/concerts, hoping the other city fails a bit, sports teams (college or semipro), who's cooler,....all of it!
