But I am going to move back to AZ in a couple of months. People told me how expensive it was here, but until you live here, you just can't imagine. I live close to the Ocean so there is not a lot of sun and boy I sure miss the sun.

Well first off Huntington Beach is one of the worst places to live in OC unless you are into the whole Tapout/Afflication/Ed Hardy SoCal rockstar druggy party scene in which everyone walks around with tattoos acting like a badass.

OC isn't cheap. I know solid professionals (Dentist, CPAs, etc) who are having a problem affording a home here, along with other cost.

Yep, the people who say its not that expensive either make tons of money, brought equity with them, don't mind living paycheck to paycheck, or are too young to care about having a house and family.

I hear you. We left CA for 3 years for WA (I'm a CA native), and we were dying to get back to CA. Now that we're back, we're dying to go back to WA. It's so much harder here in CA now that we have kids.

Oh come on. Unless they're deep in debt, I'm sure they could afford a home somewhere inland like Brea or Placentia. What they're probably upset about is they can't afford one in Laguna or Newport.

I can't wait to get back, no, I am not a druggie rock star wannabee with tattoo's. I am a older single mom that works 12 hour shifts full-time. Don't get me wrong, I love the beach, I love the downtown area, but when I pick up a pair of flip flops that cost $94, I say, it's time to go home.

I spend $94 every five years on shoes. Nordstroms Rack, DSW, Big 5 Specials.

"Home" may be the biggest driver of your desire to leave. If you were originally from SoCal, you might not have started this thread.

Or put them down and go to a cheaper store.

But that's not dramatic enough.

Well, I have some great news for you!

If you go to the WalMart or Payless on Talbert Ave, or the Target on Adams Ave, you can pick up a pair for less than $12.00.
