Hi! I am wondering about the dirt cheapest place to find a full size mattress, box spring, and frame with free delivery and set up. I am finding this for about $300, and I know that's low, but I want to see if cheaper than that exists. Anyone have any places they'd like to share? I live in Santa Ana. And yes, I've checked on Craigslist, but it seems that no one can deliver (I have a Civic so obviously can't move it with that, and no one I know has a truck), and haven't had any luck with anyone even writing me back.

Thanks so much!

There's some place on Harbor at around MacArthur that's had a sign advertising $98 mattresses (or something like that) for years. Most places charge $50 deliver furniture. There's a Home Depot across the street that will rent you a truck for like $20 for an hour.

Try IKEA on the Costa Mesa - Santa Ana border..

I bought a mini bed for about $80, the stand is about $60.

Fits right in my Honda Civic.

If you want a larger mattress, maybe try Goodwill..

Mini bed meaning a twin? I am looking for a full size. I wish IKEA delivered...or Goodwill delivered...

Will check out the $98!

...or Goodwill delivered..

Check with them, as some of these places have arrangements with local drivers who will deliver items for a small fee. I know someone who bought a really large wooden table from a Cancer Society (?) resale shop and had it delivered.

With the back seat folded down and passenger seat tipped forward, I was able to get an Ikea Malm queen sized bed frame into a Saturn SL2 ... so a full-size ought to be fine in a similarly sized Civic.

Except for the innerspring models, Ikea mattresses are rolled, so they can be easily carried.

Just understand with mattresses anywhere that you get what you pay for there, so cheap mattresses will indeed be cheap. That doesn't mean you need to spend thousands either, but if you're not comfortable right off the bat, move on to a different model. You spend nearly a third of your life in bed - make the best of it.

Bed frame - $50
IKEA | Beds | Full, Queen and King beds | FJELLSE | Bed frame

Slats - $30
IKEA | Mattresses | Slatted bed bases | SULTAN LADE | Slatted bed base

Memory foam mattress - $230
IKEA | Mattresses | Foam mattresses | SULTAN FIDJETUN | Memory foam mattress

If you opt for a cheaper (aka less supportive) mattress, then I suggest going to Overstock.com and getting a memory foam topper.

In some areas they do for a small fee. It comes from a central warehouse, not the store itself. They charge a flat fee so do all your shopping at one time.
