Born and raised here and have never understood the true attraction that California has. Yes we have beaches, mountains and the desert .. everything to do within a close mileage of each other. Now if you want to talk driving distance, 15 miles could mean and hour drive just depends. The smog and congestion has gotten out of hand (houses on top of houses). I was born here 40+ years ago, next to a dairy farm in LA County. So I can say I have seen the changes and I don't like what I have seen. I'm moving out of this state, true the grass isn't always greener on the other side, but you never know unless you give it a try. I have a good wage for California, but in my field of expertise I got a 22% increase somewhere else. I may return since I still call this my home, but hey you have to see what's on the other side of the fence sometimes.

I did. I grew up next to that dairy farm too. Now it's a strip mall.
