No, there will be plenty of young poor people too. Just look at Santa Ana.

For every person that leaves this place, 3 more hopefuls arrive.

From Mexico.

People in Orange County, hell California in general need to realize that California is "not all that".

80% of teenagers in CA are Hispanic. Mexico is what you will have in OC.

Not all the young smart people have moved out, just the fortunate ones.

The ones like me who are entrepreneurs and have two jobs (.com startup and a contract software engineer) are waiting for other people, such as my girlfriend, a young intelligent girl, to finish college before we bail.

Some people, such as my best friend, are going to stay for family reasons. However, most people like myself, my girlfriend, and most of the down-to-earth people I encounter (few and far between) who are hard workers and have goals other than smoking out all day are moving out of state and don't plan to move back.

Nice post. I could not have said it better myself. I left Orange County after being born and raised there 8 months ago and will never go back.

Such a dichotomy exists within posts on this forum and the some of the LA forum threads. Posters seem to fall into two camps: those who consider themselves smart to move from SoCal and those would live nowhere else.

Did those who moved finally quit and give in?

Are some of those who would live nowhere else merely rationalizing and actually "stuck" there due to their 1) marginally lucrative but SoCal limited skill set or 2) cosmopolitan dependent lifestyle practices?

Is that really how it is?
