Where would I drive by tomorrow morning to pick up a day laborer? I need some help digging out a tree stump.

Closest to Las Flores (Oso and Antonio)?

Thanks

I may just head over to the HD at Marguerite near Crown Valley.

The other thing is, I think this is a two or three hour job. In the past I have hired these guys for a whole day or two to rebuild a wooden back yard fence, dig out the old posts, etc. I guess I'll have to ask who wants a three hour job.

Find a moving truck rental place, like U-Haul or Suppose U Drive, there are usually a number outside early hoping to get some day work helping people move boxes and such.

You could pick them up for a job and then drive the other way down the freeway and drop them off at the border.

I didn't attempt to pick one up today but I did send get an estimate for $225 by sending photos to a landscaper on Craigslist. I suppose after he takes his cut, his laborer gets $50. It's going to be tough though, I pretty much gave up doing it myself. I don't want it to be grinded - I need it pulled out because I want to plant an orange tree there.

Does the fence enclose the tree? If not, you mightuse your own or borrow a friends truck - attach a chain -and yank it out.

Washington Navels for eating and Valencias for juicing. I have both. Also if you want a nearly year-round supply of lemons, get a Meyer Lemon.

A stump grinder is going to do the same thing that cutting it out with a hatchet is going to do. You either have to dig up the big roots by hand or leave them in, unless you have some real equipment like a backhoe. A well-seated stump will resist to any vehicle without a lot of horsepower; I remember my uncle almost yanked the axle off his Jeep trying to pull up some old bush at a neighbor's. Stump grinder! We took out a row of 40-year-old yews in front of our house two summers ago, and we planted two trees in there. They are doing fine.
