I'm a young 31, professional looking to be in a good safe area that is good for singles. I would like to be somewhat close to the beach but I'm more concerned with being in an area that will help me meet other single professionals. any suggestions. I know this is very broad, but would greatly appreciate any help or suggestions.

Not knowing you budget, I would reccomend the Corona Del Mar neighborhood in Newport Beach.

It's more upsale then the peninsula area of Newport Beach (the focus there is more on college age, 20-somethings), or Huntington Beach, and simply has a higher volume of professionals than otherwise upscale Laguna Beach.

The neighborhood is right on a nice beach, has great character, is close to amenities, and has plenty of restaurants where 30-40-something professionals hang out.

The biggest downside is that it is expensive, and you often don't get a lot of space for how much you are paying.
