I live in and love Huntington Beach. We live in Harbour Area, less than a mile from Bolsa Chica Beach. Very quiet and uncrowded. Best part is that we are away from the out of town Douchebags that ruin Main Street during the summer.

Regarding the DMV, HB doesnt have an office within its borders, but its a place that everyone has to go to and deal with at some point in their life. Rich or poor. I've talked to some of the "gangster types" and they are actually pretty nice guys.

Our requirements:
1. must be super safe
2. schools must be excellent
3. we'd like a down-to-earth, friendly community with lots going on.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Most of Huntington Beach is safe and I have friends with kids in school here as far as I know it's a good school district but better off discussing with people who have kids in school. It definitely is a down-to-earth, friendly community maybe because there are a lot of transplants here but I've been here over a year and have made many friends and there is a lot going on especially kid friendly events.

I feel before relocating to any place, it is better to get the feel of that place by spending few days in that surrounding areas, in your case if you have made your mind then Huntington Beach is lively place with full of party goers all day long, which may not be convenient for kids with their studies, would suggest you to try nearby places which may not be that expensive & good friendly people would be staying there.
