Just out of curiosity, how's the food truck scene there as compared to other metros? I've been away since the start of this phenomenon. Where would one find them in South OC?

I don't know about South OC, but I believe they're still doing Food Truck Fare Thursdays at the OC fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. My buddy lives in the Enclave in CM and they get trucks there every so often. Other than that, you'd have to check their individual websites--I know some used to go to Irvine, to the corporate parks, around lunchtime. The trucks I know of in the OC area are Seabirds, Lime Truck, Kogi, Barcelona-on-the-go, Chomp Chomp Nation (a friend of mine had them cater his wedding reception in HB)... actually, I just found a full list here. I don't really use the locator on roaming hunger since it doesn't seem to get updated that often.

What is a "food truck"? I am not aware of this phenomenon.

It's the truck that delivers bread to the restaurants and select bakeries. "Bakies" or "Breadies (more of an East Coast moniker)" like to follow them around in case there is an accident and pilfer free bread. A large score of product will result in a roadside sandwich stand at times thus resulting in a traffic snarl, but some good eats. Very rarely the product will be a large quantity of higer-end baked goods (see the 2011 New Hampshire Scone Crash). Get with the scene grammmmmpa!

Is it because the truth hurts?

Stop posting idiotic questions.

Food truck = roach coach. A vehicle used to prepare and serve low to modestly priced meals to the working class at their job sites. Some of them have great food. Some of them should be shut down by the health department.
