Hey guys,

I need to get to Lander this weekend for a NOLS course next week and need a little advice. I've done a ton of winter driving up and down I-5 but have yet to make it to Wyoming. Originally, I was thinking I-90 through Montana and then down 310 to Lander - but it looks like this route might be a little snowy/icy/rough. Well, it looks like any route into Lander is. The alternative is I-90 over the cascades, down I-82 to I-84 in OR and then hop onto a bunch of little routes in Wyoming to get to Lander...

I'm checking all of the weather sites and don't see closures on I-82 or 84. Has anyone been on it recently? Any problem corners or specific areas I should worry about on the stretch? Does anyone think I-90 would be a better bet? I'm in an old 4 cylinder toyota pickup - so I'll be moving fairly slow.

Thanks!

I-84 in Eastern Oregon is clear of snow. In many areas it has been raining.

Cabbage Hill near Pendleton is wet. Pendleton temperatures are predicted to be above freezing over the weekend.

Ladd Canyon between La Grande & Baker City, sometimes another area of concern, should also pose no problem.
