Internet varies. Since they plunked a wireless point on top of Dodson Butte, it's not too hard to get decent internet. If you are behind a hill, your only choice may be DSL or satellite.

The closest bigger city is Eugene, about an hour and a half away, or Medford, which is also an hour and a half away. Roseburg is about 20 minutes, which is where I do most of my shopping. There is a Sherm's Thunderbird, Costco, Fred Meyer, Bi-Mart, DC Farmer's Co-op, Ross, Walgreens, three really good farm stands, a USDA inspected slaughterhouse (lots of premium meats, smoked meats, and range fed cattle that don't have to be sold in halves), Coastal Farm Supply, a Grocery Outlet, etc.

Grocery shopping is once every couple weeks, or once a month if I'm feeling lazy. Sherm's is a fabulous big box grocery, with a wide assortment and prices that meet Costco. I also shop online a lot.
