We all know that increased bureaucracy, rules, regulations, commission over site and generally activist gov't intervention in the laws of supply and demand always work well so ---

WOW.

Pretty much evenly split.

Shows you how much these forums actually reflect life in Oregon, and how many Oregonians (and others) actually read and participate in them.

Kate should let towns decide for themselves and keep out of it.

She might already have signed and it's just not updated yet.
Utterly pointless garbage, that probably won't have any effect on anything. It sounds like something developers are lobbying for.

Lobbyists pay shrills to skew opinions online. So, I wouldn' take any online poll as gospel on a actual opinion on an issue.

I thought all urban residential zones allowed duplexes. Hmm. I see Salem only allows duplexes on corner lots in single family zones, but you can stash a 2-family shared residence anywhere.

I don't see that it's a huge change.

In Salem, a two-family shared residence (ie dual living) can't have a second kitchen. Now if you converted part of it to an ADU following ADU rules, then you can put in the kitchen. That part making the duplex rules cleaner isn't a huge change, since they allow ADU's now, but the 3-4 plex possibility is definitely different as well as the parking change requirement.
