Hi, What is the weather like along the coast in the Newport area? Is it rainy, windy, cold, sunny, mild, hot or foggy? What is it like in the winter, spring, summer and fall? Thanks in Advance!

They call it the air conditioned Oregon coast because it is always cool. Steady winds of 15 to 20 mph blow in from the ocean. Lastly, most of the rain falls on Oregon's coast as well. In trade for all this is a beautiful ocean and some of the best seafood you will ever eat. Clams are abundant as well.

Here is more on the weather for you to look at:

When it is hot in the summer, people head for the coast.

Enjoy!

Dan

Steve:

You have a wonderful sense of humor. I don't know how you do it living under a constant cloud cover but you manage somehow to put a smile once again on my face.

The neat thing about coast towns is that there is towns 5-10 miles inland that the temperature will change 10 -20 dgrees- you could be on the coast in newport and it will be cold , completly fogged in and windy . And drive 7 miles east to toledo and it will be 70 and sunny and no wind- in coosbay - go up river to alegany , etc.

It rains and the wind blows all winter long. The sun shines durning the winter as often as the price of gas goes down. In the summer it is slightly less cloudy and foggy. Go inland 5-10 miles and it is not as bad. It still rains a lot. It is nice in one respect it is always warm. It rarly drops below 50degrees. The warm ocean keeps the temps up.

Yes, it rains, but to me its comforting. I grew up near Newport (in Toledo) and loved it! Just a few miles in and it seems like your in a totally different climate. Even though there is a lot of rain, the few sunny days there are on the beach, make it worth it in my opinion.

mild, not too cold in winter, not too hot in summer, it's by the ocean, so you can get some fog, and the air is clean.
