Default Newport

Newport is a pretty nice coastal town. Unfortantly I can't tell you the info you are looking for but you can probably find it by looking at the local newspaper online at http://www.newportnewstimes.com/index.html

I'm in Olympia WA and would like to relocate to Medford because of the warmer weather. I'm a winemaker by hobby and wanted to grow a couple acres of grapes. My wife works for CarpetOne and could easily transfer, however I work for the Attorney General's Office which makes it a little harder. I've been with the office since 1987. I do the video and graphic design production using Macs. Are there many state jobs that would involve that or would I need to go private sector?

Oh OregonGirl, im jealous!!! I ADORE Newport! that whole area along there (Depoe Bay/Newport/Lincoln City) is my fav!
Im further down south along the coast, so i cant help you out much, except to tell you what you already know...housing prices there have skyrocketed in the last couple years and are only going up. I have some friends that moved from Coos Bay to Newport a couple months ago (coast guard) and they were pretty dismayed at the housing prices. Might look inland a bit - always cheaper that way! Good luck with your move!
