Angry gluten intolerant stoners?

Malicious mischief, The culprits are likely "kids" or prolonged adolescent 20 somethings. My first thought was an employee of one of the local markets that tosses out old product. I did my time in grocery as a kid. Plenty of opportunity to remove "trash" and take it on a walk home.

I didn't find the story amusing as I am old an grumpy now. When I was 20 I would have at least chuckled.

Fortunately no "racist" Voodoo doughnuts were involved or they would be classified as hate crimes: Questions about racial issues in Portland

I didn't know doughnuts could be racist.

Clearly this is a diversionary tactic by professional criminals to attract the police away from where they are planning to commit a major crime.

The police will be attracted to the doughnuts, then the crooks will be free to strike elsewhere! Perhaps a major jewel heist or the like?

A similar tactic was used in Seattle as I recall... A bunch of protesters surrounded themselves with doughnut boxes. They knew the police would never cross the doughnut line and they would be safe from arrest!

I'd say the big crime here is the wasted maple bar, but Albertson's pastries are pretty meh.

If I saw a perfectly good maple bar on my windshield, I would eat it.

That's what I was thinking, too. I mean, maybe they are trying to be the doughnut version of the paper-delivery boy, but failing terribly.

Someone is trying to frame kids by leaving 'clues' like "Twilight" DVD's along with the pastry items. Nasty. Maybe its someone old and grumpy (no offense) with a grudge against young people for .... being young. I don't think actual young people would spend money on maple bars and then waste them on acts of vandalism. Well... I actually don't know that. I don't know what young people do anymore with respect to food items but I know that they don't lose track of their Twilight merchandise.
