Moving to Orlando from Australia. Require help with short term rentals (Country Club: extended stay, apartments)

Hello,
My wife, two young children and I are in the process of obtaining an intra-company VISA to Orlando.
But it feels like we are banging our heads against the wall when looking for a short term rental (3-6 months), until we purchase a house in a suitable area.

We are looking somewhere in the eastern suburbs (Conway etc) as this is where my manager is located.
It seems every place (apartments, townhouses and houses) that we enquire about, we firstly don't receive a reply back, and secondly on the odd chance we do, they want us to view the place and sign a long lease.

We are using such sites as apartmentratings.com and sublet.com plus a few others for help.

Basically my question is, can anyone help with our search for a rental? By this I mean do you have an recommendations? realtors that will actually reply to emails?

BTW even though this is my first post, I have been using this site quite a lot since we decided on the move. It has especially helped in regards to the safe and not so safe areas of Orlando.

Rentals under six months are prohibited in most Central, FL areas, which is probably why you aren't getting a response from most places.

In all honesty it will most likely take you a full year to get settled in and really explore the areas you are interested in buying a home in, and unless you've got a very large downpayment and have established c redit in the US, it could take four months to close on a home.

We will be paying for a house outright, no need for loans etc.

I have been getting some help from a realtor and also been directed to a few cheapish holiday rental apartments.
The hard thing though is not yet knowing an exact date when we are coming over.

Glad to find an aussie on this forum. I am living in Australia too. I know a couple realtors in Orlando area, as I own a house and a condo there, as investment properties. Not sure about short term rental though, but can pass the question to my realtors, if you like.

What about Extended Stay America, there's one in Maitland. That way you can come whenever you're ready without knowing exact dates and leave without knowing exact dates. I think that's the only way you'll be able to stay somewhere for such a short time. They have rates for as low as $32 a night.

Thanks for the replies, I have even been PM'd by a couple of realtors in the Orlando area, which is always good.

My wife has been in contact with a person that owns a condo at the "Ventura Country Club", has anyone heard of this place or have any comments about it?

That's not an area I'd want to live in.

I know the area around it isn't the best but the Country Club itself is gated and have security guards at the gate 24 hours.

Also there is another place nearby called "Ventura Apartments" which is a different place altogether.
That place isn't too flash

That doesn't always mean much of anything. One of the most exclusive communities in the town I live in has a back entrance with a gate that is never closed--in fact I'm not sure there is even a gate there.

I wouldn't live in that area--just not worth the hassle of having to look over your choulder every time you leave your house--especially with kids in the picture. There are so many better areas, keep searching.
