My family lives in Broward County and we are looking to relocate because it is getting very expensive to live here. We looked into Ocala but I didn't like it and Cape Coral was beautiful but it felt like there was nothing to do there. We did look at some houses in the Poinciana area near Orlando and the homes were very affordable but we do not know anything about the area. It didn't seem much different than where we live now and being close to all the Central Florida attractions is appealing with a 5 year old. We also have a college bound son who is looking into UCF and a 21 yr old that wants to work at Disney. Any input anyone can give us for this Poinciana area will be helpful or for any of the other towns in the area. Thanks.

Predominantly hispanic community. FYI
I live n St. Cloud. [cut] St. Cloud is growing, but still maintains small town atmosphere. I came here 7 yrs. ago from Miami. It's definitely a better environment. Accessible to Disney, Orlando for work, entertainment. Last edited by markablue; 09-20-2006 at 10:22 AM. Reason: You may post it in Classified Ads, please |

If hispanics are buying nice homes and take care of them what is wrong with them? These boards are nothing but battle the hispanic people, they have to live somewhere. If they are affording homes in the 200ks they cant be that bad. (no I'm not hispanic) but it just gets to me. Every state has all people so get used to it.

Originally, Poiciana was a development where they advertised to out of area buyers, brought them in and hosed them with rediculously overinflated prices and false promises. That was a few decades ago. Now that surrounding areas have grown, it's not so far out in the boonies and is an active and viable market. Personally, I think it was one of the uglies areas of Central Florida, but if you are from Broward County, you may not notice it that much.
It is fairly convenient to Disney but not so much to UCF. |

Yea if you can get the same minority break on a mortgage that the hispanic people do then you could afford it too.

Banks and financial institutions give minorities a break on their mortgage? What form does that take? |
