Exactly and ridiculous that it's mostly the "liberal 99%ers" who are pissed off about it. I keep hoping the conservative 99%ers will stop buying into the propaganda of the GOP for once, as it's evident they're all about protecting the 1% and pillaging the 99%.

Its more like Disney is denial of inflation and the rest of the city is following suit

Back in 2008, my dad briefly worked for a company called Faye Tool and Dye. They paid him $16 an hour. He worked for them before in 1995 when we first moved here, and they paid him $15 an hour. So in 13 years his pay increased by $1 an hour? Thats ridiculous
Are you telling the whole story ? Let's get it straight - your father worked for Faye Tool and Dye in 1995 and made $15/hour. How many years did he put in with them ? Did he start at $15/hour ? And he went back briefly in 2008 and took a job making $16/hour ? The exact same job he had before ? And if he was not happy with the pay, why did he take the job ? And why was his employment brief ?

And how is Disney in denial of inflation ? Minimum wage was $4.25 in 1995 and stands at $7.25 today, an increase of close to 70%. Most jobs at Disney pay minimum to start. It's up to the employee to budget their money; unfortunately, most people in the U.S. have no concept of how to save money.

Yep, maybe the IRS should amend the 1040 and add an additional tax so we can pour more money into social programs, so that more liberal 99 percenters can sit on their arse and milk the system a little longer. Do tell, what has the current administration done to get you out of work 99 percenters a job ? Obviously nothing or you wouldn't be complaining. And I'd love to see what your viewpoint would be if you were one of the 1% ...

True, but then you get into debt up to your eyeballs as a lot of the 99 percenters have done and expect a bailout because the concept of saving for a rainy day is foreign to you.

to go back to the OP's original post.. not sure what you do in IT, but I've found salaries for me to be comparable, if not better than NY, if you take into account taxes, cost of living etc.

If you want, PM me for more details
