I've seen a lot of negatives regarding Lake County Fl schools. I've seen that they have improved in the last couple of years. They even have two A rated high schools in East Ridge High and Lake Minneola High. My wife loves the city of Clermont and we have two kids so schools are very important to us. I've read the schools in Clermont actually are all rated A's or B's frome Elementary to High School. The bad reputation of Lake County schools has me worried about moving to Clermont. If anyone can please give me feedback on the city of Clermont and their schools if they really are good and safe, I would greatly appreciate it. Would love some feedback on a whole about Clermont, thank you.

I can't speak from personal experience, but I know some people that teach in Lake County. My wife was offered a job there at a newer school, however the pay and benefits are lower than Orange/Osceola/Seminole Counties. I think if you're zoned for an A/B school, you'll do just fine.

Some of the individual schools are good. Just be careful because Lake County is a rapidly changing place and rezoning is likely... meaning, careful moving into a place where you love the elementary, middle, and high because by the time your kid leaves elementary, the middle and high schools might have change and you may be stuck going to one of the areas (many) dodgy schools.

The guide I use isn't rating them as highly....201112 Central Florida Education Guide 2012

It does show the high school in traveres as having an A which is improved.

As long as you move into an area zoned for East Ridge High, it's not likely to change in the next 10+ years.

The 2011-2012 grades have both Minneola High and East Ridge High as "A" rated. The Clermont middle schools are all "A" rated in 2011-2012, and the majority of the elementary have consistently held "A" ratings, there might be one that is a "B."

Education in Lake County has come a very long way over the past few years, and there is a lot of investment into developing a strong educational system in the county--particularly in Clermont. If it stays on the track it's on, it's quite possible that Lake will equal Seminole a few years down the road.

I have lived in Clermont for over eight years and can answer questions. I'd suggest you use the search button before asking, as almost every question under the sun has already been asked and answered.
