Does anyone here themselves, or someone they know firsthand, work at Universal Orlando as either a ride mechanic or electronic animation/show control technician. There was a post on here about a year ago regarding ride mechanic's salary, but I can't seem to find anything else on the internet. I am wondering what the pay difference is between the two jobs, if one is more preferred over the other, if the roles ever overlap, If you are assigned to one ride only....just curious and I don't want to bother the people at HR with my questions before I even apply. I have 10 years experience with automotive and industrial troubleshooting/ maintenance, experience with PLC'S, micro-controllers and I am AET certified for avionics. I think that qualifies me for either one, but I could be wrong, any input would be appreciated,

thank you,
mick

Thank you for the tip. I checked out that site, most of the reviews seem to be from sales or food service. The techs are either very happy or so deeply traumatized that they don't want to talk about it

I'm not certain, but I've heard they make something like $30/hour. If you're willing to work overnight you'll make more. The ride techs usually have a few rides in their area, unless it's a brand new ride or something that needs a dedicated team. I know some techs, like the A/V ones, will go to all of the attractions.

Thank you for the info, I was hoping it was more than one ride.

Tech Svcs - Ride Mechanic job in Orlando, Florida - at UniversalOrlando

I worked night custodial for Universal back in 2007. A couple of guys who worked with me applied for and recieved internships for tech services, that's why your thread caught my eye. Hope this helps.
