While not quite technically Orlando, there is great Manatee watching to be had at Blue Springs State Park in the wintertime (not much farther than Sanford which had an attraction on the list), and you can also visit the Kennedy Space Center. Either of those place is <50 miles away from downtown.

Heck Disney world gets lumped into Orlando and it's not even in Orlando

Restaurant Row in Dr Phillips should get a mention too. It's more of a locals only area, but it's literally a hop away from the touristy I-drive.

Mentioning Winter Park in the same breath as Sausalito, La Jolla and Southhampton is a bit much.... and in actuality the "farmers market" doesn't really have any legitimate farmers but the picture sure makes it seem legit.

I would add Mt. Dora, Wekiva Springs, and Cassadega.

If it was about Tampa he would say, in many ways it's better than Sausalito and La Jolla!!!!

I love Blue Springs and Wekiva Springs! I used to never think about Orlando as being a beautiful area scenery wise, until I had some family visit from overseas. They loved it here and said it's so beautiful, especially the lakes and around the springs. I understood what they were saying afterwards.

Typical rah-rahs showing up to shake their pompoms. Though you're right it is the closest there is which isn't by definition a match....and in terms of Tampa, really? As I suspected you don't read and comprehend very well. I like St Pete/Clearwater which is quite different from Tampa.

I think the northwest side of CFL including the Wekiva River Basin, St. Johns/Lake Monroe and all the way out to the hills of Lake County are some of the most stunning natural areas of Florida. Sometime on my way out to visit my family, or just to take my mind off things, I'll just take the long scenic route along Wekiva Springs Road, Vick Road, Plymouth-Sorrento, Round Lake Rd, SR 46, US 27, or US441 and take it all in. It's another hidden treasure of CFL, it's a shame that they going forward with the Wekiva Parkway and may just ruin it all for future generations. I'm going to keep riding it as much as I can before the bulldozers move in.
