Well, it could be the fact that you went to Wal-Mart. Or that you were near I-Drive. Or a combination of the two. Lots of tourists, and even if they weren't tourists, in Wal-Marts you usually don't find the friendliest of people shopping there or even working there.

What PDF said. If you want friendly, Wal-Mart is not where you would go.

Judging an entire city based on an experience at Walmart isn't the best judgment in the world to make.

I am thinking the OP is judging the people shopping at that Walmart as people who actually live here, but that is the one that the WDW visitors tend to go to to get Disney junk cheaper than at the Disney parks and shopping center. The reason they are rude might just be because they are tourists. Though I do have to say even employees of Walmart everywhere seems to be a less friendly group and the people who shop Walmart tend to be louder and ruder than at a more up scale discount places. n employee almost ran me over with a cart yesterday and did not even acknowledge me, not one employee spoke to us, the cashier did not say anything at all while checking us out. Just a different experience than in other stores that use the 10 foot rule.

To the OP I have to say that yesterday leaving a grocery store, 2 young men with NE accents were talking to each other about how everyone in the store was smiling. I was smiling going into the store, too and they asked me if everyone in Florida is always smiling and so friendly. They said they did not see anyone who wasn't smiling.

I agree the issue at hand isn't the tourists, and more likely the average demographic that shops at WalMart. I shop at Fresh Market and Target mostly, and can't say I have really encountered any rude experiences that would send me home to post about.

You go to WalMart, you are not going for the shopping experience. You are shopping, period. You know what you are after, and want to get in, get it done, and out. I generally find the employees friendly. However, in that WM especially, you are dealing with tourists staying at the condos, etc and they just want to get it done.

WalMart sucks, and the people who shop there are pretty much the bottom of the barrel. Want nice people, shop at Millennia early on Saturday morning before the tourists show up.

That is a very insulting comment. I guess I will call Colonel Michael Maurer of the Hernando County Sheriff's Office, a couple of Hernando County Board of Commissioners, a few lawyers, manager of a bank and several others at let them know about that.
