Can we put a tent up on the beach (at Jetty) (just for the afternoon)?

We are thinking a tent would keep the kids cooler.

Sorry, I didn't see your post in time to respond. How did it go though? I totally forgot about it. Isn't that funny? I write post about it all week then forget to look up in the stinking sky. Hope you had fun!

Thank you for all your help, directions, and link. We DID head out to Jetty Park. It was so easy to find. Take the beachline straight east until you drive right into the park! We did call ahead for advice on when to arrive. Got there at 10:30 and parking was still available. It did end up quite busy (long snack lines). The beach was perfect! The launch an incredible experience! The drive back: twice as long.

If you ever get a chance to see a night launch, if they have them again, a daytime launch will never be the same. I saw the last one at night driving 2.5 hours one way only to have it canceled 5 minutes before lift off and scheduled for the next day and we decided to make the drive again. It was the best decision ever. It was spectacular how it lit up the night sky.
