Should I take I 75 through Tampa to I4 or is Hwy 17 through Arcadia faster from Fort Myers to Orlando?

I have taken both ways and 75 to I-4 is much faster. Try to make the trip during the day or at night to avoid rush hour near Tampa, Lakeland and the Disney area.

I make this trip often and my preferred route is take 80 out of Fort Myers to Labelle. I forget the name of the road but it's right in the middle of Labelle and takes you to 27 which take you all the way up to I-4 right around Disney. I prefer this route because although it's stop and go on occasion I usually make better time and lately I have encountered alot of traffic on I-75 route, particularly you it hit the I-4 portion.
