Some friends will be in Orlando for Thanksgiving week-end and I'd like to take them out around town. Not the Disney crowd.
They are in their late 30's.

Any good dance clubs with a somewhat nice setting you'd recommend in Orlando or vicinity...with a more mature crowd instead of a room full of teen-agers?

Thanks.

I've heard about a new hot spot that opened up downtown recently. It's called Ember and is very upscale. I believe they spent 4 million on renovations. I'm not sure if they have dancing but if they don't, you could start your evening there with a drink and get recommendations from the staff.

Blue Martini, Millenia Mall
Ember, downtown
Corona Cigar Bar, downtown and Dr. Phillips
The Wine Room, Winter Park
Room 23, downtown

These are all nice places that cater to more mature crowd. I'm not sure if they all play dance music, I know for sure that Room 23 and Blue Martini do, but the others are more upscale bars and lounge atmospheres.

Which is better: Blue Martini or Room 23?

For what you're looking for I'm going to say Blue Martini because it has a dance floor. They usually have a live band from 8-11, than after that they switch to a DJ. Blue Martini also tends to be an older more mature crowd. Room 23 plays music but doesn't really have a dance floor per se. It's more of a bar and so it's less dance and more mingle. Because it's downtown it's more of a mix crowd of everything from college kids to older professionals. It used to be 25 and up but I don't know if that's still the policy. The advantage Room 23 has over Blue Martini is that it's right downtown. If it's not to your liking, you could easily walk to Corona's or Ember or elsewhere.

Alphaman,

Can you name a few on Wall Street that have a more mature crowd and some good dance music?
Besides Room 23, what other good ones that fit the criteria are there on Church Street?

Thanks.
