Yeah you gotta wonder how that will play out over at IOA.

Great move for Disney. It won't affect what Universal has going on already, but it will allow Disney to market to teenagers and young men, a market that would typically turn to Universal after Disney started to feel too 'kiddy' for them. I could see a whole land developed at DHS with this. I don't see why they would drop 4 Billion and not do anything special with it.

It will definitely affect Universal once the agreements for the rides that are currently in place come up for renegotiation. They better start thinking up ways to repurpose some of those rides...

From what the article is saying, it doesn't look like IOA will be affected right now. Disney may try to do something Marvel themed in some of it's other parks though ( Tokyo, Hong Kong ).

I can't see Disney making a thrill ride anywhere close to The Hulk.

I wonder if this might eventually be the catalyst for the long discussed 5th Gate?

That is a very interesting hypothesis. That park sounds interesting but the price of admission is absolutly ridiculous.

Well, I'm not sure that the 5th gate would be like the one described in an earlier post. There have long been rumours of a 5th gate that was more teenager and adult oriented.

Yes I know what you're saying.....I just read a couple of newer articles on it and the idea really sounds cool, it's just that at the price they are talking about charging IMO they would have to promise a lot more than what is rumoured to be offered.
If they charged regular admission I'd be down in a heartbeat. Apologies to OP for straying OT
