Hi there-

Im relocating back to Fl, this time in the Daytona Beach area. I've lived in Orlando and Deltona and am somewhat familar with Port Orange and DBS. I do remember a section of Daytona North of Port Orange that was not so nice. The home Im looking at is in 32118, around the courthouse area. Is this by International Speedway? Burleigh Subdiv, Ortona or R.J. Longstreet elem. Have a 5 year old in Kindergarten. Can anyone shed some light on this area? And the 2 schools? The home is on Phoenix Ave. I dont know which school it will be.

I can give great advice on Deltona and Orlando but Im lost on this one.
Thanks.

BTW, Daytona Beach has changed for the better in the past couple of years. Phoenix Ave is officially in the South Atlantic Neighborhood of Daytona Beach, and the closest bridge is Orange Ave/Memorial Bridge (CR4050).

It's an "up and coming" area on the beachside that is VERY convenient to the best of Daytona Beach beachside, Main Street and downtown (walking/cycling distance) including Saturday Farmer's Market on City Island, Daytona Cubs Baseball and News Journal Performing Arts Center

Daytona State College -

Just recently, the historic home on the Halifax River, across from you known as Lillian Place was just recently purchased by the local Heritage Preservation Trust to be used for their offices and private functions:
The Heritage Preservaion Trust of Volusia County, Florida

It has very little crime, however has a high concentration of seriously aging retirees who don't always maintain their properties well (as they retired decades ago).

The August 7 Inn Bed & Breakfast is only 2 blocks from you and is great place for meals (w/ advanced reservations required), tea, private spa treatments and an overflow for private parties or house guests:

Longstreet Elementary (actually almost near Dunlawton Bridge Rd (A1A) in Daytona Beach Shores would be your school and would require a bus/private transport as it's too far to walk/ride. You can verify:

Good Luck!
