If you live around Orlando - say Winter Park (first name that came to mind), how far from a beach are you?

Winter Park to Cocoa Beach is about 75 minutes with no traffic. From most of Central Florida you can get to a beach in about 75-90 minutes or so. Which beach will depend on exactly where you are.

I can never tell which beach would be closest to which town/city. LOL

Here's what you do.
1. Go to Google Maps
2. Type in Winter Park, FL.
3. Pan east if you want the closest which is Atlantic, pan west if you want the Gulf
4. Find a city with beaches.
5. Double check by googling that city in a new tab (Ctrl+T)
6. Did it have beaches? Good! Go on to step 7, if not find another city.
7. Press "Get Directions" on the left hand side of Google Maps
8. Type in Winter Park, FL in the top box and __(city you found)___, FL in the bottom box.

Remember that so if you ever need to find something you'll know how to do so!

As long as you don't go in peak traffic, you can get from Winter Park to Daytona Beach in just under 1 hour.

I went to Cocoa Beach yesterday, it was exteremely busy but the gorgeous weather made the trip worth it, and it is about an hour and a half from where I live in West Orlando. Just saying that even if it is a decent drive, the beach is also worth the time!

I live downtown less than 5 blocks from the 408 and I can make it to Titusville in 45 minutes with no traffic and 60-75 when crowded.

From Maitland, one town north of Winter Park, it used to take me 50 minutes to get to Cocoa Beach, and I'm talking front door to beach parking lot. No traffic, and going a touch over the speed limit, but not hauling ass either.
