Lucid Air is a really nice looking car. Cleary a direct competitor to the Tesla Model S. Would you buy one? Why or why not?

I'm curious to see what people think about Lucid in general. I like it and I'd consider it.

It is a neat and well designed car. Production quality remains to be seen.

I like them a lot. Will be interested to see how they do once the vehicles start being delivered later this year and how the claimed 500+ range stacks up in real world testing.

They sparked my interest enough that I did invest in them earlier this year.

Seems like a brilliant car with nice styling, excellent interior, incredible performance, top EV range. But I think they need to offer an SUV and lower priced vehicles.

I would consider the Air lower priced version except I'm not crazy about sedans and its height of 55.5" is a bit low for me at my height.

I've invested in Lucid and hope they are a huge success.

I think their greater focus on being premium more so than topline performance and technical doodads, which it certainly still has, make them a more direct comparison to the German premium brands than Tesla in some ways.

You made me laugh!

About the car...I agree, would love an SUV. I'm not really ready for a sedan yet, still have a bunch of stuff to haul around for my teenager and his friends and their sports.

This is an interesting video - the last 1/4 of it talks about how Lucid's CEO and chief engineer just sold off $4 million in Lucid stock and that they wouldn't have if they truly believed in the company:

Not giving a great deal of confidence that they believe in the company when they are selling shares. However, the stock price went up over 4% today....I've invested enough to get a huge bump if it skyrockets like Tesla but not too much to worry about if they tank.

I do kind of think the stock price is inflated now, I bought when the price was a little over half what it is now.

Today's article in Seeking Alpha has a good chart on the 3 editions of the Lucid Air car.

I had no idea these things weighed over 5000 pounds . . .
