me and my brother picked up buckets of rocks out of our neighbors yard, for five cents a bucket when i was like 7 years old,, dang cheap neighbor got his whole yard cleared of rocks for a few dollars
My grandfather paid me 10 dollars to mow his lawn. That was back in the late 70's so you could buy a lot more with 10 dollars back then...I bought candy and coca-colas with it for about a week...lol.
I did way too many little jobs and errands to recall. But, there was a lady that worked in a cafe next to dads shop. She gave me 15 cents to go get her the paper 1/2 a block away everyday. I earned it as I always ran as fast as I could. Even though she always told me there was no hurry. Actually 15 cents went along way in late 50's and early 60's....

Being a housekeeper in my own house and got $20 every Saturday (from my mom) , for keeping the house cleaned during the week (even after track & field practice and homework, I still had to clean house to earn money at the end of the week).
But my first REAL job was the U.S. Army (I was 19 and just graduated when I went in).
