Back in the 60's you could buy Asthmador cigarettes which contained Belladonna over the counter.

A hippie friend of mine told me you could get high on them if you ate them.

Curious me, I went to a drug store, bought some, ate 4 of them, waited and waited to get this big high and all it did was leave my mouth parched dry.

Thirsty, I downed a couple of beers and ended up in the Psych Hospital. I was driving my car. I remember stopping at a Mcdonald's, my key chain turned into a snake, I threw the keys/snake across the parking lot and ran like a deer.

At one intersection, I saw a cop car, opened the back doors and jumped in! Why I did that, I'll never know!!

I was told, later, if the cops hadn't taken me to the Hospital I could have died that night, mixing alcohol with belladonna.

I did know some of those facts. I also knew that the original Coca-cola actually contained small amounts of cocoaine (coca).

This is interesting stuff, Joy!
