Today's Question(s):
It is Hamburger Day !!
So lets talk about Hamburgers Oh boy!
Last time you had one? June 18.

How do you like yours prepared:
At home?
At a restaurant?
They're all good! I rarely eat hamburgers, but I do love them.
On the grill? Best.
In a frying pan? Okay.
Under the broiler? Good.

Do you prefer it:
Rare? Nope.
Medium? Yep.
Well Done? Nope.

Favorite toppings
1. Dijon mustard
2. blue cheese
3. sliced green olives

Bonus Question:
If you were on a Talk Show, would you be a better
Interviewer?
or
Interviewee?
Fun question! Hmmm. I think I'd rather be the interviewer, but both sound fun.

Extra Credit Question:
What was the last thing you couldn't find? A binder at home with papers in it.
Where did you end up finding it? Haven't found it yet. Just thought of it right before I left the house this morning. Looked a little; didn't find it; made a note to look for it this evening.

Just for Fun:
What are some of today's "Buzz" words or phrases that you wish would just "disappear"? "Seriously?" Also, when someone says, "No problem" instead of "You're welcome" in response to "Thank you."

Today in History:
1865 - The American Dental Association proposed its first code of ethics. Procedures like using a welder’s torch to shrink swollen gums were banned. It was about time!
1896 - The community of Miami, Florida was incorporated. The city had a population of 260. Today, the area boasts a population of more than 2,000,000. I wouldn't boast about 2 million people. More people = more pollution, more crowds, more noise, more crime, less habitat for native species. I'd prefer a small town.
1900 - The Hamburger was created by Louis Lassing in Connecticut I think we should have a "We Love Louis Day."
1914 - The Foxtrot was 1st danced at New Amsterdam Roof Garden (NYC, by Harry Fox) Fun dance!
1933 - The singing telegram was introduced on this day. The first person to receive a singing telegram was singer Rudy Vallee, in honor of his 32nd birthday. These are fun!
1951 - Walt Disney's "Alice In Wonderland" released I never liked this story. Too bizarre for me. Except I liked the cheshire cat.
1996 - New York Yankee Darryl Strawberry hits his 300th home run I'm not a baseball fan, but I recognize the name. However, I thought he was with the Chicago Cubs!

Words of the Day:
deadpan \DED-pan\ , adjective;
1. Marked by or accomplished with a careful pretense of seriousness or calm detachment.
2. Displaying no emotional or personal involvement.
Steven Wright comes to mind.

Today is:
National Milk Chocolate Day I prefer dark chocolate, but this is yummy, too!
Hamburger Day Yay! I love hamburgers! Will have my usual salad today, though. Hamburgers are only a rare treat.
Wiffle Ball Day
Accountants Day I work with a very nice accountant, but she's on vacation today - lucky lady!
Fingerprint Day I have 8 of them!
Dress Up In Silly Costume and Sing A Telegram Day If I had the time, I'd be really tempted to do this. I've done it before.......

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Interviewer because I could prepare for that job

Extra Credit Question:

What was the last thing you couldn't find ?

Someone gave me their email address and I lost it.

Where did you end up finding it ?

I still haven't found it.

Just for Fun:

What are some of today's "Buzz" words or phrases that you wish would just "disappear" ?

Oh man, I could come up with 50 if I tried. I'm not in the workforce anymore or I bet I could add 10 to this list. Remember when "Herculean effort," "empowerment," "proactive" and "holistic" were thrown into every office presentation, speech and report?

Here's mine:

"sustainable" or "unsustainable" (shoot me now if I hear it again - totally overused in every scenario possible - number 1 overused term right now, in my opinion)

"man up"

"I misspoke" thrown around constantly which in the old days was "I lied."

"investment" in lieu of spending, what it used to be called.

"robust" from tomato sauce to economy speak

"user-friendly" Says who?

"cutting edge" until tomorrow when it's yesterday's news.

"revenue raising" in lieu of "tax increases" what it used to be called

"green" remember the good old days when it used to mean newbie/rookie? Then it meant money. I think if I live long enough it will change meaning again.

Speaking of words/phrases that change meaning but I must have missed the memo: "chicken hawk" - You know how it's constantly used now regarding war but it used to mean men that picked up boy prostitutes. How was that leap made? I have no idea but everytime I hear it I cringe.

"change" like it's always something good - it just means different than it is now. It can be good or bad.

"deconstruct" - what happened to just plain analyze?

"climate change" as the reason for EVERYTHING. It used to be "global warming" but they needed to cover "cooling" too, so now it's used even more than global warming.

"gender neutral"

"quagmire" the word comes and goes for the same war situation depending on who is in office but when it is used, it's overused.

"Soccer mom" - UGH!

"insurgent" - they used to be called rebels.

"organic"

"cougar"

Okay, I think that's enough for me.

Probably interviewee. I can never think of great questions.

Still haven't. So far I'm using "weird" but the podiatrist says that's not helping him much.
