Good Morning to all Chickie's and Grammie's good friends. May a smile dance on your lips today!
Yesterday I went to bake those good 7-up biscuits which have sour cream, 7-up (lemon-lime soda) and bisquick, mix 'em up and then put them on top of some melted margarine. But, I didn't have any sour cream. Oh boo hoo, as I didn't want to have to drive about 10 miles to get some. Then I suddenly thought, I have Grammie's homemade sour cream recipe....but it does take overnight to develop .... I always have all of the ingredients on hand (most might not though). Ok I can wait until the next day to bake my biscuits.
Then I thought, ok, maybe Grammie's friends would like to know how to make some sour cream if they need it and don't have it. Today is a good day to do that......always good advice to have an old fashioned recipe to get you through a patch (as Grammie would say) when you don't have exactly the right stuff on hand. Sour cream in your face is today's advice.....just kidding... but you are getting Grammie's old fashioned way to make it. It's probably easier to go to the store for most but...for those of us who are country folk, maybe not. Well heck I even have her copycat Bisquick recipe too. LOL

Grammie's Homemade Sour Cream
1 cup heavy whipping cream (there is whipping cream and heavy whipping cream....I use the heavy due to higher fat content)
1/4 cup whole milk
3/4 teaspoon white vinegar
Mix the milk and vinegar and put in a jar and let sit for about 15 minutes. Add the heavy cream to the jar and mix, then let the jar sit on the counter for 24 hours, then immediately chill before using.

It will be creamy and tastes great, but full of fat....lol...now to make those good old 7-up biscuits would be Grammie's advice....she loved those biscuits.
