Hey kids, well the last Saturday in July is upon us

I for one am ready for the weekend, so let’s get this show on the road with . . . . . .

Today's Questions:
In honor of Bugs Bunny making his debut in 1940 in ‘Wild Hare’

What’s the first cartoon or animated movie you recall seeing and how old were you
at the time?

Do you remember when they used to show cartoons in movie theatres before the main feature?

If you could be any cartoon or animated character, who or what would you be (& why)?

Today’s Bonus Questions
Today's Bonus Questions come to us from that guy . . . dang what's his name . . .
you know, he lives in central Arizona

You're being given the opportunity to go on a shopping spree and you'll be given
the equivalent of your current annual income for 1 year to pay for your purchases

Will you be going to one or multiple places to shop?

What type of places will you be going to, and which one would be your first pick?

- Any big mall and you’ll decide when you’re there
- Big Chain Retailers (like Walmart)
- Sporting Goods Stores
- Home Electronics Stores
- Auto Dealerships
- Home Improvement Stores
- Places That Sell Real Estate
- Furniture Stores
- Clothing Stores
- Book Stores
- Places That Sell Expensive Art (like Auctions)
- Any Place That Sells Vacations
- Others . . . ones you can list and maybe ones you shouldn't list <so long as it's PG13>

Today in History:

1909 - Orville Wright tests 1st U.S. Army airplane, flying 1h-12m-40s
1931 - Grasshoppers in Iowa, NE and SD destroyed thousands of acres of crops
1940 - Bugs Bunny debuts in "Wild Hare"
1974 - House Judiciary Committee votes 27-11 recommending Nixon impeachment
1990 - Zsa Zsa Gabor begins a 3 day jail sentence for slapping a cop
1996 - Bomb explodes at Atlanta Olympic Park, 1 killed, 110 injured
2010 - Photographic negatives purchased at a garage sale prove to be early works
by American photographer Ansel Adams
2012 - Ban Ki-moon, U.N. Secretary-General, urges countries to work together to
reach an agreement to control international arms sales; no agreement is reached

Quote of the Day:

Have a great weekend y’all and of course . . .

No idea
Do you remember when they used to show cartoons in movie theatres before the main feature?
No, but I would see them on tv before a movie was shown, sometimes.
And I would go to film animation festivals in the 1980's (with several very brief "movies"),
to see up and coming stuff from Pixar (before everybody knew their name).

If you could be any cartoon or animated character, who or what would you be (& why)?
No idea

Today's Questions:
In honor of Bugs Bunny making his debut in 1940 in ‘Wild Hare’

What’s the first cartoon or animated movie you recall seeing and how old were you

I remember watching an animated program called "Crusader Rabbit" in the very early 1950s.
Do you remember when they used to show cartoons in movie theatres before the main feature?
Oh, yes!
If you could be any cartoon or animated character, who or what would you be (& why)?
I would be Rocky the Flying Squirrel and my husband would be Bullwinkle. If you could see us together, you'd understand why. He's very tall with a long face and I'm very short with a round face.

Multiple places. I can't think of any place other than a jewelry store or art gallery where I could spend that much money at one go.

I think I already used up my whole allowance on the car, furniture and appliances.

Thanks, JustJoy!

What’s the first cartoon or animated movie you recall seeing and how old were you

Do you remember when they used to show cartoons in movie theatres before the main feature? Sure do!

If you could be any cartoon or animated character, who or what would you be (& why)? Beauty from Beauty and the Beast.... because.

Will you be going to one or multiple places to shop? Realtor's office only.... looking for a lake house. Though it would take a lot more than my annual income. On second thought I might look for a contractor to start an addition on my house. It could probably be framed only...

Happy weekend, all!

Probably The Flintstones. I would have been 4 or 5

Do you remember when they used to show cartoons in movie theatres before the main feature?
I do. I also remember the theaters were much larger and all of us kids would sit in the front several rows

If you could be any cartoon or animated character, who or what would you be (& why)?
I would want to be the roadrunner. Even the good guy cartoon characters occassionally got hit with a 500 pound anvil. The roadrunner is the only one that I have never seen taking a few bumps along the way

In the theatre probably Bambi when I was 4 or 5. On TV, harder to remember a specific cartoon. I remember Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Foghorn Leghorn and Tom & Jerry.

Do you remember when they used to show cartoons in movie theatres before the main feature?
Just barely. It was just at the end of that tradition. They stopped them when I was a little kid I believe.
If you could be any cartoon or animated character, who or what would you be (& why)?
Foghorn Leghorn. I say, I say, few things could be better than having a giant cockadoodle-do!
