Today’s Question:

How do you heat your home? - I don't need heat.. I'm full of hot air..

For our Australian friends - I guess I don't qualify for that question..

Are you using your AC?
How much do you pay for electric?

Extra Credit Question:
As I was driving by a Starbuck's the other day I got to wondering how a place that is so expensive is so busy...for coffee. On top of that the couple of times I have been into a Starbuck's I have been totally baffled by the menu...so:

Have you ever been to a Starbuck’s or Other Coffee Shop? - I go there sometimes.

Do you know what to order or do you need a dictionary to decipher the menu? - Define Dictionary..

What do you order? - Café Latte. It's one of the few coffee drinks with no sugar in it.

Today’s Question:
Brr!!! it’s cold for so many of you....

How do you heat your home?
We have a gas gravity furnace, also known as an octopus furnace. Because it doesn't need a motor, it runs even when the power is out, and it's quiet.
How much is oil or gas in your area?
Our last gas bill (January) was $184, but we had unseasonably mild temperatures for most of the month. In December the gas bill was $228.
What was your last electric bill?
In January it was $135. In December it was $162.

Starbucks have become so ubiquitous that you can hardly avoid going there. They've also become the new gas stations, the one reliable place you can find a clean restroom when you're on the road, so I have stopped there occasionally when I'm traveling.
Do you know what to order or do you need a dictionary to decipher the menu?
I usually don't get those fancy drinks with whipped cream and flavors, but if I've only stopped by to use the restroom I feel I ought to at least buy something.
For those who need help here is a lesson, lol:
How to Order at Starbucks: 16 Steps (with Pictures) - wikiHow
Thanks!

What do you order?
Normally just a small coffee or, in the summer, an iced latte or a bottle of juice. Once in a while DH and I buy ground coffee there if it's on our way, but we prefer to patronize smaller, local businesses when we can. There are a lot of other coffee places in San Francisco to choose from.

Bonus Question:
How many times a day do you check your e-mail account?
About four times a day. It varies.
How many messages are in your inbox?
Usually about 3 or 4 new ones per day. Total messages, including all archived messages: 6720. I need to start deleting the old stuff.
How many sent messages do you have?
293
How much mail is in your spam?
Zero

Today’s Question:
Brr!!! it’s cold for so many of you....

How do you heat your home?
We just have a few electric heaters to heat the rooms we're in on cooler evenings. It's only coldish for 6-8 weeks a year. We also have reverse-cycle aircon but don't like to use it for heat, it's too stuffy.

How much is oil or gas in your area?
I have no idea!

What was your last electric bill?
About $500 for the quarter (but it was the spring bill so lower than normal since the weather is neither too hot nor too cold). Electricity is expensive here.

For our Australian friends
Your Australian friend is late to QOTD as I went to bed last night before it was posted.

Are you using your AC?
On and off. Most people here don't use aircon 24/7 - they just put it on for a few hours a day when it's especially hot (or while cooking dinner, etc). Our aircon is rarely on for more than four or five hours a day and only on especially hot days (over 95 ish).

How much do you pay for electric?
See above!

Have you ever been to a Starbuck’s or Other Coffee Shop?
Once or twice to Starbucks (I think it's highly over-rated) - lots of times to other coffee shops.

Do you know what to order or do you need a dictionary to decipher the menu?
I don't order fancy coffees - I just want flat white, or sometimes a cappucino. I'm more concerned with it being decent coffee and fairly strong.

For those who need help here is a lesson, lol:

Bonus Question:
How many times a day do you check your e-mail account? I
t's up all day - the number of times I look at it depends on what else I'm doing or what I'm expecting in the inbox - anything from three to a dozen times a day!

How many messages are in your inbox?
At the moment there are 6 unread - but I know what they all are and none of them are exciting enough to open just yet! There are 2,000+ messages in the inbox - I pruned them down from 4,000 a few weeks ago! I don't like deleting stuff!

How many sent messages do you have?
1,570 - again I'm not big on deleting stuff!

How much mail is in your spam?
I don't ever get any spam - not sure why - maybe my ISP is good at weeding stuff out.
