Off all the hundreds of contests I have entered in my life, I have won an illustrated coffee table book about cats from a Purina contest and a Miguel Cabrera fat head in a newspaper contest..that's about it..Anyone hit it big with cash, trips, or anything else?
I don't recall ever winning a mail-in contest. But then, I don't think I've ever entered a mail-in contest. I always resist the Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes. I used to have a friend who was so sure she had a shot at winning the PCH sweepstakes that she dressed up on the day the winners were to be notified, in case they came to her door with cameras rolling.

LOL! Many years ago, my husband bought a couple of magazine subscriptions thinking he'd have a better chance of winning. I didn't dress up.
In the 1970s, my mother paid for a contest newsletter. She, we, sent many entries. All we ever won was that ugly T-shirt.

My ex-husband used to do the same thing including memorizing the little script they sent him to say after he won the prize.

I've always won in just about every contest I've ever entered....
Tons of stuff from para sailing classes to gourmet restaurants to countless concerts, etc.
The only mail in contest I won, has a story behind it.
I heard on the radio they were giving out a few copies
of a brand new beautiful book of original art by one of my favorite musicians.
To enter they said send in your name address & phone # on a 3x5 card.
I started to right then, lol
My friend walks over & asks what I'm doing- of course I exlain...
She laughs....So I tell her in about 5 weeks I'll be showing her my new book...
And of course I did.
