No. I have all of my bills on automatic bill pay. So, I do not feel compelled to open my mail unless it is personal/hand written. I do throw the junk mail away as soon as I receive it. I do eventually get around to reading the rest of the mail once in a while. I have found that keeping mail in the bathroom, as it is probably just someone trying to sell me something that I do not need or want. You know how it is in the bathroom. I need to read something, an old trick I learned in college. Whenever I had to read something for school, I would put the book in the bathroom and read it there. I may never read the book in any other setting. So, not it is the same with stale mail, or snail mail. I am not that interested. There was a couple of times that I did find something in the mail that mattered. It is probably a good idea to read/skim the mail every now and then.
I am pretty good about checking my mail almost daily, but once in a great while a bill will get buried and catch me off-guard when it's due. I try to be dilligent. I work customer service for utillity billing, and we hear constant whining from people in a panic because they forget to check their mail - and some forget regularly.
We have a business, so I'm always looking for checks! $$$$$ Either me, or my hubby, meet the mail carrier at the end of our sidewalk.....every, single day.... rain, shine, snow or sleet! So, Yes. We open our mail every day, and slam-dunk the junk mail!
