If (and I mean If) you can get a couple of million people to stop buying gas from Exxon/mobile period ( not just a day or two ). This would have a great impact IMHO....
I have stopped buying gas from both of them several months ago.......
I don't know why people buy from them anyway, they are a lot more expensive, at least here in Houston.
Everyone here is about the same except for the new pilot station which is 10¢ cheaper. I would like someone to elaborate why diesel is 75¢ -80¢ higher than regular....
It is cheaper to distill....

Exon and Chevron here is running about 18-20 cents more than some stations. I don't know why diesel is so much more.
I've gotten that email several times in the few months, I wonder if it would work too........any thoughts from anyone on this?
I'm sorry to report this is an urban legend. This and similar other emails have been recorded on the net since at least 2001. A boycott of a few brands would probably result in increased prices for the remainder due to supply and demand. Last week when I filled up in was still about $2.90...I heard that this week it went into the $3.00 range.
Luckily, I work two miles from home...so weekends are the only times I really use gas. I will probably only feel it in the summer when I have to drive to the shore every weekend.
Location: Moved to town. Miss 'my' woods and critters.

I get 28 mpg now. Live in the country, no chance of 'carpooling' around here. Save trips to town and make a circle of places that I have to be. Groceries, Post Office, fuel stop, library, etc. Try to get it all done within one trip. then the other days I have to drive to the office and then chauffer potential buyers around looking at properties. Talk about gas usage!
And I remember 19 cents a gallon and my hubby says he remembers 17 cents! Now that's old!!! And it was not self service. Someone checked water, oil, and tire pressure. Oh well. Oh, about the diesel, it always, always was far less expensive than regular gas. What happened?

I also get between 28 and 30 mpg, paying 3.39 per gallon in New York. We now shop once a month for about 90% of our needs and during that shopping trip, we buy most of it in bulk, so we're saving gas and paying less for most groceries as well. I rarely see the post office because I pay almost bills on line. When the weather gets a little better, I'll walk to the library and mid-month shopping for milk, bread, etc. (just under two miles).
$3.18 - $3.25 gallon here in the Salt Lake Valley. If for some reason that's lower that what your paying, our wages here are most likely lower too.
