I'm so old I remember my dad's Chevy with a hand throttle so you could take your foot off the gas and rest it. And if you only turned the ignition switch a certain way you didn't need a car key to drive it. Unless it was raining no one bothered to lock or roll up their windows. Now reason to back then.
In light of the Natasha Richardson tragedy, I remember when we went skiing, no one wore a helmet. In fact I haven't been skiing since I was 19, I am now 42, I have never seen anyone in a ski helmet. It certainly makes sense, you go alot faster and are in more danger then on a bicycle and they wear them on bikes as well. In fact I have never even worn a helmet on a bike either.
