Good morning everyone
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms here on CD

It is going to be toasty here in NE FL with some nasty storms predicted later today

Company still here so I have to be quick because we are going out for breakfast
So I will make this quick & easy when I ask

Todays question :

So are you doing anything special for Mothers Day ?

Today in history:
May 11, 1812 Waltz introduced into English ballrooms. Most observers consider it disgusting and immoral. No wonder it caught on!
May 11, 1947 BF Goodrich announced the development of tubeless tire in Akron, Ohio
May 11, 1967 100,000,000th U.S. phone connected

Word of the day:

acumen \uh-KYOO-muhn; AK-yuh-muhn\, noun:
Quickness of perception or discernment; shrewdness shown by keen insight.

Today is :
National Eat What You Want Day !!!
and
National Jigsaw Puzzle Day

Hi, again, Karla. I've detailed my day in the exercise thread, but for my friends who don't drop in there, here it is!

I've already tried calling mom (she's in NY, I'm in FL), but she must be out for breakfast. I'll get her sometime today. I sent her a beautiful bouquet of flowers after convincing the florist that FTD didn't have it right - it should have yellow roses instead of white in the mix!

My neighbors (who are childless like we are) are taking me out to brunch this morning, and my nosey neighbor's son took both of us out to dinner last night for mother's day. I'll be a walking butterball here pretty soon if this keeps up!

Enjoy the day, everybody.

Made Mum a big vegetarian cooked breakfast. Eggs, beans, baby spinach, tomato, mushroom and toast and a milk coffee. Then gave her a couple of little gifts. This afternoon we watched a dvd together.

Glad it's National Eat What You Want Day, that'll help me justify having cake!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mums.

Not much as kids 1500 miles away but they sent a beautiful flower arrangement filled with calla lilies, stargazers, roses. Will call my mother later as it's still early for her.

Eat what you want-didn't know it was a holiday as I do that everyday.

Happy Mother's Day to all.

Our children live in many different states now. Will stay home and if it ever stops raining may finish planting my new plants that arrived. Otherwise nothing special here in the woods w/my critters.

Well, now, eat what I want? Whooppee! May have to drive to town afterall.

Happy Mother's Day to all of you Moms out there.

44 deg raining and very windy, yuk. I'm glad I finally talked MIL out of having her daughters and their families for a cook out (I'm the cook). I'm making dinner for my wife, her sister, her mom and everyone's family, 10 in all. I decided to do a BBQ pulled pork recipe that I do in a crock pot. I don't have to stand out in the rain and cook. Eat what you want day? Does that mean I can eat home mede ice cream until my mouth is so cold I can't talk? I hope so. See you tomorrow, I'll be the one with the frozen tongue thought I should stick it out while I can.

I am going to meet my mom and aunt at the nursing home where my grandma lives, and my kids are cleaning the house.

This I wrote for my mom last mothers day, and want to pass it on to my CD friends who are moms:

Now that I'm walking in your shoes,
from you is where I'm taking my cues.
I'm loving mine like you did me,
with open arms and condition-free.
You always said you'd love me
no matter what I did,
and you've been proving it sweetly
since I was a kid.
Sometimes, I long to go back in time.
Up into your lap I'll climb;
you'll put down your book,
tell me how pretty I look,
and give me a hug and a kiss.
Those are the times that I miss.

Happy, Happy Mothers Day!
