I guess this will date me. I do remember getting a transistor radio. It was only AM frequency, red and chrome with a white back, leather case and a head phone. My first introduction to electronics.

LOL When I was about 5 yrs old, I wanted a baby sister. I kept asking mum and dad for a baby sister. One Christmas under the tree was a taller than the average size doll. Well at first I just so loved that doll. Then I got jealous because she was almost my height already and I thought if she got taller than me I'd end up being the "baby sister". Please keep in mind my age...I feel rather silly even typing this.

A "Thirsty Walker" doll, she was big enough to fit into baby clothes and sneakers. A few years ago I won the same doll on Ebay, still in the box.

The Thanksgiving of 1966.....we were @ my grandparents. After my cousins left, Poppa went out to his little shed and came back with 2 wooden baby doll craddles, he had made. He placed one in front of my sister & one in front of me, and said "I am trying to make each my granddaughters one of these for Christmas........But I am not going to get them done this year. You girls get yours, today. But do NOT tell your cousins, I want to suprise them, as well."
2 weeks later, Grandpa had a massive heart attack, and was gone.
As an adult, and now as a grandparent, I often look @ my pink doll craddle & wonder, if ''somehow'', he ''knew''...............
He would be proud, I've always ''kept the secret''.
