I was born in 1979, so people say I am at the end of Generation X. But I always thought we were at the start of Generation Y. I could just tell by the kids at school how different we were from the class just a year ahead of us.
I grew up with Nintendo video games, and later in school cell phones and beepers, home computers, etc. Some of my classmates even had internet. Nothing like today, however.
Generation Xers seemed more cynical. My class was the first that seemed more cheerful and upbeat. We broke away from that "Grunge" lifestyle.
Anyways , is it possible to fall in between Generations? When does Gen X/Y split off?
Generation Y, also known as The Millennial Generation, is a term used to describe the demographic cohort following Generation X. Its members are often referred to as "Millennials"[1] or "Echo Boomers"[2]) . There are no precise dates for when Gen Y begins and ends. Most commentators use dates between the late 1970s and early 2000s.[3][4][5][6][7][8][9] Members of Generation Y are primarily the offspring of Generation Jones and the Baby Boom Generation.

I'd personally say 1979 to about 1997. Kids born in the 90s seem like the spitting image of kids born in the 80s. I was born in January 1990 so I'm in the midst of this generation.
